36. British Summer Time

Here comes the British Summer Time! Did you move all your clocks and watches forwards one hour? Time difference between the UK and Japan is now 8 hours.

A bit of a history on British Summer Time...

In 1972, the UK adopted Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) in winter time and British Summer Time (BST) in summer time. But a custom of changing the time forwards and backwards has started in 1916. A guy called William Willett first suggested it in 1907 because he thought the British people were wasting daylight in summer. Then the Government finally agreed with the idea in a following year that he died. Sadly, he could not experience it.

It implies that the Government is always late to do something anywhere...

Enjoy the summer!
